John's Story
After High School, I spent 2 years in Vietnam as a medic. After that, I got my B.A., M.S. & Ph.D. So much for the M.C. counselors who had me in every shop class because I was obviouslly not college material. As a Forensic Neuropsychologist, I prepared competency reports for the court and specialized in defendants where a neurological insult (e.g. stroke, dementia, head injury) might impact the defendant's ability to assist their attorney in mounting ...Expand for more
a defense to the charge(s). Defendants found guilty could be sentenced to a psychiatric hospital or prison based on my findings. People without mental health issues sometimes tried to malinger symptoms to avoid prison and people with mental health issues sometimes tried to appear normal as they prefered prison to a Psychiatric hospital commitment. A very interesting career but whn I no longer needed more money I decided to pursue travel and the arts.
